Activate Your Hands-Free Power Liftgate
Opening your liftgate is easier than ever with a GMC power liftgate. To open your power liftgate follow these simple steps:
- Bring your key fob close to the back end of your vehicle
- If equipped, the GMC logo projection will activate
- Kick your foot straight over the projected logo or towards the sensor if you have an older model
- Wait two seconds and your liftgate will open allowing you to step back and away as it opens
In order to close the liftgate, repeat the kicking motion or press the button.
Customize Your Hands-Free Power Liftgate Settings
Not only does the power liftgate make opening your trunk easier, you can further customize the settings for optimal convenience. If you want to adjust the opening height, first find the power liftgate button in your vehicle and set it to ¾ mode. Now, adjust the liftgate to your desired height. To save this height, press and hold the power liftgate button until your tail lights flash.
To further customize your settings, find the settings button in your entertainment screen. Navigate to the vehicles tab and then press comfort and convenience and choose Hands-Free Power Liftgate settings. Now, you can choose your trunk control from the following options:
- Off
- On- open and close
- On- open only
